Sateesh was raised in the southern region of India and earned his MSc from Andhra University. Following a 6-month internship at Pragati Chemicals in Hyderabad, he commenced his PhD journey in 2014 under the guidance of Prof. Y. D. Vankar at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. During this period, he focused on the Stereoselective synthesis of C-aryl glycosides. Subsequently, after completing an internship in South Korea, he transitioned to the University of Basel, Switzerland, serving as a postdoctoral researcher under the supervision of Dr. Rachel Hevey and Prof. Daniel Ricklin in the Department of Pharmaceutical Science. His academic journey then led him to Canada, where he served as a visiting scholar at INRS, Montreal, and later took on the role of a Scientist at Sygnature Discovery in the United Kingdom. In 2023, Sateesh joined Prof. Denmark’s group at UIUC as a postdoctoral fellow.
