Vincent Kassel was raised near Charleston, SC and received his B.S. in Chemistry from Clemson University in 2012, where he worked in the lab of Professor Rhett Smith. After graduating, Vincent joined the Plastics Additives division at Milliken & Company where he contributed to various R&D efforts including small molecule synthesis and process scale-up. In the Fall of 2017, Mr. Kassel came to Illinois and joined Professor Denmark’s group where he currently investigates several kinetic and stereochemical aspects of the Suzuki-Miyaura reaction. Aside from playing with palladium, Vincent enjoys reading, metal detecting, and consuming several hundred milligrams of caffeine each day.
