Margherita Gazzotti

I was born and raised in Varese, a small town in northern Italy. I obtained both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemistry at the University of Milan, where I later completed my PhD in Industrial Chemistry, working in the research group of Prof. Maurizio Benaglia on the development of a novel class of decahydroquinoxaline-based chiral phosphoric acids. During my doctoral studies, I spent six months at ETH in Zurich, joining the group of Prof. Helma Wennemers, where I investigated a stereoselective peptide‑catalyzed macrocyclization reaction. Outside the lab, I enjoy spending time cooking and reading books.
