I was born and raised in Columbus, OH. I attended the University of California at Berkeley for my undergraduate studies, where I investigated amination reactions catalyzed by ruthenium complexes in the lab of Professor John Hartwig. After completing a B.S. degree in chemical biology with a minor in computer science, I went to work as a research associate in the medicinal chemistry department of Gilead Sciences in Foster City, CA. Following this stint in industry, I decided to pursue my graduate studies. I joined the Denmark group in October 2019 to investigate chemoinformatic strategies for rational catalyst optimization. In my free time I enjoy cooking (eating), training, and exploring the remaining Illinois wilderness.
