I was born in Erzurum, Türkiye and obtained my B. Sc. with honors in Chemistry from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Türkiye. I then moved to Miami University in Oxford, Ohio to pursue an M. Sc. in organic chemistry. Upon completing my M. Sc., I moved to Philadelphia and started my Ph. D. under the guidance of Professor Fraser F. Fleming at Drexel University. There I worked on developing new reactions with isocyanides which uncovered a novel low-temperature isomerization of isocyanides to nitriles and an extremely rapid dearomatization. My research focused on synthetic methodology, reaction optimization, and the discovery of new reactions. In the fall of 2022, I joined the Denmark lab as a postdoctoral research fellow to focus on organometallics, catalysis, and machine learning guided synthesis. Outside of the lab, I enjoy spending time with my wife and friends, exploring new places, cooking, and on a race weekend you can find me watching Formula 1!
